BEIRUT, April 28 (Xinhua) -- Lebanon opened WoofFest on Saturday, the biggest two-day festival for dogs.
The event, which was organized by Mindwhisk, an event management agency, and k9 village at the Parks in BIEL, Beirut, brought together hundreds of people to celebrate their love for their dogs.
This is the first event where people are capable of pampering their dogs with active games, beauty contests, talent shows, entertainment areas, bands and food courts.
Natasha Abdallah, a dog owner, told Xinhua that the festival is good for dogs because in Lebanon there are no parks that allow dogs to enjoy their time.
"We want to thank k9 for what they are doing. I come here every year with my dog Anakin who feels very happy to attend. We allow him the freedom to play and he always finds new things to do," she said.
Another dog owner, Marie Sawan, said "the idea is very beautiful. Every time they organize this festival, we come and take part of it."
People can also adopt dogs in the event.
"Lots of people are coming for our adoption section and the dogs can find new families. This is what we dream to improve in Lebanon," Haitham Chedid, a dog trainer at k9 village said.
The festival is full of games, pools for the dogs, massages and spa, he added.
