TOKYO, Feb. 13 (Xinhua) -- Tokyo stocks opened higher Wednesday following Wall Street's solid lead overnight.
As of 9:15 a.m., the 225-issue Nikkei Stock Average gained 207.86 points, or 1.00 percent, from Tuesday to 21,072.07.
The broader Topix index of all First Section issues on the Tokyo Stock Exchange, meanwhile, added 12.11 points, or 0.77 percent, to 1,584.71.
Mining, securities house, pulp and paper-linked issues comprised those that gained the most in the opening minutes after the morning bell.
