NEW DELHI, Oct. 26 (Xinhua) -- India's External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will visit Qatar and Kuwait on Oct. 28-31, it was announced on Friday.
During her visit to Qatar, the Indian minister will interact with Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Qatar. She will also call on Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar.
Bilateral trade between India and Qatar in 2017-18 was 9.9 billion U.S. dollars, according to official figures.
In Kuwait the Indian minister will hold a bilateral meeting with her counterpart Sheikh Sabah Al Khalid Al Sabah, deputy prime minister and minister of foreign affairs of Kuwait. She will also call on the Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
Kuwait hosts about 1 million Indians, forming the largest expatriate community. Bilateral trade between India and Kuwait in 2017-18 was 8.5 billion U.S. dollars.
This will be Sushma Swaraj's first visit as external affairs minister to both the countries.
