GUANGZHOU, March 29 (Xinhua) -- A Sino-German intelligent manufacturing cooperation park has opened in south China's Foshan City, Guangdong Province.
The park is focused on robot manufacturing and is ready to accommodate at least 500 enterprises associated with robotics by 2025.
Among the first group of settled enterprises is a Midea and Kuka Aktiengesellschaft plant, covering intelligent manufacturing, intelligent logistics, intelligent home and intelligent healthcare.
The annual output of robots from the base is expected to reach 75,000 by 2024, Till Reuter, CEO of Kuka, said.
The intelligent manufacturing industry's output value is expected to reach 100 billion yuan (about 15.8 billion U.S. dollars) soon, said Lu Yi, Party Secretary of Foshan City.
The park will serve as an engine to transform Foshan into a manufacturing innovation center, Lu said.
