?BEIJING, Feb. 7 (Xinhuanet) --?A report on unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) flight safety was recently published in China.
The report further validates the technical feasibility of “using existing cellular networks to regulate small low-altitude UAVs,” as proposed by the International Telecommunication Union.
With the rapid development of civilian UAV technology, the use of UAVs has expanded to the fields of patrolling, agriculture, logistics, security, etc.
By 2020, 4.33 million UAVs are expected to be sold worldwide, according to the research institute EVTank.
According to officials from China’s Civil Aviation Administration, UAV flight safety requires close coordination and cooperation among UAV manufacturers, telecommunication operators and other sectors.
The administration will collaborate with more telecommunication operators and communication device manufacturers to achieve efficient and orderly UAV traffic management.
