LONDON, Jan. 21 (Xinhua) -- Manchester City completed its second signing in two days with the arrival of 19-year-old central defender Vitor Reis from Brazilian side Palmeiras.
Reis cost City just under 30 million pounds (36.5 million U.S. dollars), with his arrival coming just a day after the arrival of 20-year-old Uzbekistan center-back Abdukodir Khusanov from French side Lens for a similar fee.
Reis has already played 19 times for Palmeiras and has turned out for Brazil's U-17 team.
"I'm excited to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world. Everyone has seen the amazing achievements in recent seasons and I want to make my mark as we seek more trophies," he said in declarations on the City website, where he also highlighted the chance to work with head coach Pep Guardiola.
"Working with Pep Guardiola is something every young player wants to do, and I know he can help me to develop into the best player I can be," said Reis. ■
